Welcome
In June of 2008 the Englewood City Council adopted a new revised alarm
ordinance and program that became effective on October 7, 2008.
In 2007, the Englewood Police Department responded to over 3,800 false
alarm calls. False alarms cost the city and its citizens thousands of
dollars per year and take officers away from actual emergencies. The ordinance
also creates a registration process, provides for annual alarm permit fees
for residential and business alarms, and provides for fees for false alarms to
encourage all alarm users to maintain the reliability of and to properly use
their alarm equipment.
